How to Simplify Content Creation with CoSchedule

Blogging Tips

It’s no secret that content creation is the number one pillar for nearly every business, especially an online business. After all, if there isn’t any content, there is nothing for potential customers to read or purchase. With the power of CoSchedule, you are able to simplify content creation for your business.

Content is the very core of most businesses. Content is what attracts and retains customers.

Because content is such a vital role in online businesses, it deserves a way to be simplified and to keep all the pieces organized.

You might think that content is just blog posts, but in fact, it is so much more.

Content includes blog posts, social media updates, email campaigns and even some of the products and courses I offer here at The Creative Boss.

Without content, I wouldn’t have a business, without a stable system and reliable tools I would spend all my time creating content and not enough making money in The Creative Boss.

How to Manage Content Creation in a Single Location

After being in the content creation game for quite a few years, I tried a handful of tools and systems. And until recently I haven’t had a single tool that takes care of so much for me.

I have been a CoSchedule user off and on for some years. When I started, they were great for planning your editorial calendar and scheduling posts from your own blog. This wasn’t so great if you used other tools to promote content from others.

CoSchedule has grown over the years, and I have fallen more in love with the tool.

I am now able to brainstorm content, schedule the posts, create the social media posts all one calendar. And that now carries over to email campaigns, course creation, you name it you can create a project and get to work building it inside of CoSchedule.

CoSchedule As an Editorial Calendar

Coschedule has always been at its core a fantastic editorial calendar. It is excellent for planning blog posts and integrates nicely with WordPress.

Within the calendar, I can quickly look at all of my upcoming blog posts and quickly drag and drop them to a different day if needed.

Another powerful feature is the ability to attach documents from Google Docs or Office 365 if you are not interested in using the native text editor or writing within WordPress (I don’t recommend ever doing this!).

Within the WordPress blog post creator, you can test your titles and score them with CoSchedule’s Headline Analyzer and the title with reflecting within your WordPress draft. You can also select the author of the post and the categories. These are a few steps that you can do while writing the content and not have to remember to tweak down the road in the WordPress dashboard.

Another powerful feature is using the tasks to keep track of your blog post creation workflow. You can set the tasks, assign them to team members and set due dates. All of these tasks will then appear on your personal view in the CoSchedule calendar.

CoSchedule As A Social Marketing Calendar

After you have written a great blog post, you know that you should tell your audience on social media about it. Chances are you hit publish, and you share it once and forget about it. And then something happens, or instead, nothing happens.

No visits the blog post and it just goes off into the sunset, and it was only read by a handful of people.

Here’s the thing you need to share on social media a bunch of times. Most of your audience isn’t tuned in at the same time, and things tend to move quickly.

By using CoSchedule’s social campaign tool, you are able to create posts for social media and schedule them to share both immediately after your blog post goes live and create posts to share in the future.

This means that you will appear to be active more while doing less work!

How to Plan Email Marketing with CoSchedule

Another piece of your content plan includes regular emails to your list. The great thing about CoSchedule is that it connects to your email service provider, like ActiveCampaign, and you can plan and create your emails in the same location.

This is especially great since your blog posts, social media and emails are all used to center around the same projects. If you are promoting an upcoming affiliate campaign, it can be great to have a birds-eye view to create a solid marketing plan.

By planning your email campaigns directly inside of CoSchedule, you can use the Headline Analyzer to help improve your open rates on emails.

Other Projects You Can Plan with CoSchedule

There are other projects can also be planned inside of CoSchedule to help you create the content plan around them. These projects include courses, books, website content, webinars, podcasts and much more.

By setting up projects, you can easily create workflow task templates and set up integrations based on the project, for example, create and attach a Google Doc.

By mapping out other projects inside of CoSchedule, you can link projects to keep track of your content creation and promotion within the same calendar.

This will not only save you time but help you stay on track and laser-focused since you will be less tempted to open other tabs on your browser.

How to Set Up Task Templates

A powerful time-saving feature that is relatively new to CoSchedule is task templates. This allows you to save your templates for workflows and add them to projects with just a couple of clicks. You can both create task templates and use some pre-built templates.

Multiple templates can be applied to a task, for example, you can use a task template for blog post creation and a template for social media promotion. This makes sense since you will want to promote your new blog post on social media.

Using templates will help to keep you on track and avoid distractions. These are also great if you are working with a team since everything is now in a single location. You can assign due dates based on the previous task and assign tasks to specific team members.

Both due dates and team members can be saved as part of the task template.

How to use the Workboard for a Brain Dump and Sort Later

One of my personal favorite ways to use the Workboard is a brain dump. This is where I drop ideas for blog posts and other ideas to sort later. This means I have a central location that is always a click away, I can hide the workboard if I don’t want to feel overwhelmed and pull it up when I have ideas to add.

I go through the workboard and assign projects specific dates just by dragging it to a spot on the calendar.

If one of the projects is a blog post for WordPress, the date will even adjust within my WordPress dashboard.

How to Keep Promoting Old Blog Posts Magically with ReQueue

CoSchedule has a fantastic feature called ReQueue.

This allows you to automatically reshare your social posts in the future without having to remember to go back and fill your social media calendar.

You can set up ReQueue categories, like blog posts, affiliate promotions or even seasonal content. By having categories set up, you can fill the requeue with material that will cycle through. This will help you to share your older blog posts without having to go back and create new posts for social media.

How to Get CoSchedule for Free

Now that you are totally blown away by the power of CoSchedule and how much time it will save in your content creation you are going to be even more surprised to know that it’s possible to get CoSchedule for free.

So, here’s the thing, CoSchedule has an excellent referral program. For every customer that you refer to CoSchedule, you will receive 10% off your monthly plan. If you have 10 business besties that all would benefit from CoSchedule, you can use it for free.

Or if you take time to write a review of CoSchedule, you will receive 50% off of your monthly plan and only need to get 5 people to join with your referral link.

With a bit of extra effort, you can use the tool and share about how it has changed your content creation for the best and use it for free.
